We would like to take this opportunity to invite you
to join the Society for Psychoanalytic Studies (SPS). The society is
an organization of mental health professionals interested in including
psychoanalytic thought in the discussions, policy, training, and practice
of mental health in the Twin Cities area. SPS offers this perspective
while recognizing the effectiveness and benefit of diverse orientations
and practice in the mental health field.
SPS sponsors several programs including the Firesides
and Psychoanalysis for Very Smart Skeptics as well as publishing a newsletter
throughout the year, keeping its membership informed of various conferences
and events involving psychoanalytic thought. Membership offers you continuing
educational opportunities such as the recent conference on Architecture
and the Psyche (co-sponsored by SPS) as well as APA Division 39's
conference on "Hope: Contemporary Psychoanalysis" Passion
for Possible" from April 2-6th at the Minneapolis Marriott
City Center.
Membership provides the chance to connect with other
professionals. As a member you will receive a copy of the membership
directory that can serve as a valuable resource for referrals, presenters,
and consultation as well as an opportunity to advertise your own services.
You will continue to have opportunities to identify your specializations
for the directory.
So why not join? You can be as active or inactive as
your schedule and energy level allow. With help from your dues, SPS
can continue to represent psychoanalytic thought in the community. Yearly
membership is based on the calendar year (January-December). Annual
membership is $60.00 ($30.00 for students). |
